Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade

MDL Parents, come join us to help promote our program at the parade once again this year. It is a wonderful way to get the word out to the community while getting to know more of your fellow MDL parents.

Rain or shine!

The parade is from 10:00 am to noon. Meet by 9:30 am in the Morehead Planetarium parking lot.

Look for Glen the Gator!

Please wear traditional Chinese clothes or anything red.

Organizers have requested that participants do not dress up as Santa.

Special MAC Meeting with Dr. Watson-Grant and Dr. Harrison

Everyone is invited to a special MAC meeting at the end of the month with Dr. Elaine Watson-Grant, CHCCS Dual and World Languages Coordinator, and Dr. Rydell Harrison, CHCCS Interim Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services. The meeting will be held Tuesday Feb. 28 at 6pm in the Glenwood media center

There will be discussion on, among other things, the new Standards Based assessments parents are seeing on report cards, how they may or may not affect MDL specifically, MDL assessment in general, MDL curriculum and classroom pedagogy, and what lies ahead regarding MDL curriculum and pedagogy at the middle and high school levels, which may be different in the future, once the two-track classes (vs. the previous one-track) that started a few years ago make their way to these levels.

We will be prepared to ask questions on these topics and parents are encouraged to bring their own questions or contact us regarding questions you would like us to address.

Hope to see you there!
